Kleinschrodt graduated with a BFA from the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University and an MFA from UCLA, Los Angeles in 2011. Recent solo exhibitions include: ‘Murmelte Instrumente’, Andrew Rafacz Gallery, Chicago (2014), Water Cut, UNTITLED (2012), and distant already at Carter & Citizen, Los Angeles (2011). Group exhibitions include: The New Now, Carter & Citizen, Los Angeles (2013); the origin of the world /\ the force of the source \/ the cause of the vigor, Samson, Boston, MA (2013); Cognitio Arsphobiae: Show Therapy, The Wand, Berlin (2012); and, Photographic group show under the 6th St. Bridge, Los Angeles (2012), curated by Fette. Her work has been screened for Dirty Black Summer – Adult Contemporary, Kavi Gupta, Berlin (2010), Eject Festival, Museo Ex Teresa Arte Actuel, Mexico City, MX (2010) amongst others. Kelly Kleinschrodt lives and works in Los Angeles.
Through her experimental multi-disciplinary practice, Kleinschrodt’s explores the subject of Motherhood and the identity of the female body as mother. Her thought-provoking photographs, sculptures and installations present us with a contemporary interpretation of classical imagery and themes.
