Sonne’s artistic practice is focused on exploring dichotomies and is full of contradictions and cultural references. His unique style sees him methodically creating the perfect monochrome paintings then setting them on fire or making perfect sculptural forms in clay then attacking them with his body resulting in work that is visually captivating yet disturbing. In his oeuvre Sonne depicts a combination of both positive and negative space creating a permanent state of conflict and a platform for the artist to explore his interest in oppositions.
